News – Euro PhD Summer School 'Operational Research for Value-based Health Care'

Please bear in mind that your badge contains your metro card, as well as the lunch tickets. Be aware that together with the underground ticket there is a metro receipt – in case your metro card demagnetises, it is your proof to show that the card was charged with trips!

The weather forecast for the week is great – sunny and warm days above 28 Celsius degrees in general – but keep in mind that nights can be a bit chilly (around 17 degrees), in particular near the riverside at Parque das Nações (the area of the residence).
You can experimentally use the web-platform Slack (user guide available here) in the school selectively with the following purposes:
1. To make available your own photo and some other personal information;
2. To make announcements about each day of the school;
3. To generate some discussion with each day lecturers, if appropriate;
4. To share some photos;
5. To privately interact with each other.

DAY 1 – SUNDAY

Reminder: check-in in the students’ residence after 10:00am.

Capricciosa menu for Sunday’s diner includes:
- Starter: Panne all´aglio con Formaggio or Bruscheta Pomodoro (1 for 2 persons);
- Main dish (select): Insalata di Carpaccio; Pizza Margarita; Pizza Speciale del Pizzaiolo; Pizza Portoghese; Pizza Bolognese; Pizza Tropical; Pizza Rustica Integral; Spaghetti alla Bolognese; Spaghetti alla carbonara;
- Deserts (select): Macedonia di Frutti; Cheesecake;
- Non-Alcoholic Drinks (select max 2 drinks per person): Red fruits lemonade; Basilic lemonade; Water; Soda;
- Alternative options will be available for the participants that have declared to vegan or vegetarian (Vegan pizza/Vegetarian penne/Green Insalata).

DAY 2 – MONDAY

Bear in mind that at residence Eng. Duarte Pacheco the breakfast will take place in the common rooms near the reception (where the security guard is located).
There will have a short welcome session in which you will have the opportunity to know the President of Técnico (Arlindo Oliveira), the representative of the University of Navarra and Co-Chair of the Organizing Committee (Fermin Mallor), the Heads of the Engineering and Management Department and of the Centre for Management Studies of Técnico (Rui Baptista, and José Rui Figueira), as well as the Chair of the Scientific Committee and outgoing Head of ORAHS (Sally Brailsford)
Participants will know the challenges in which you will work along the week!
